Lying just 65 km west of Hong Kong, Macau (or Macao) maybe known to many as the Asia's Gambling capital or has long been referred to as the "Las Vegas of the East", but if gambling does not interest you, its swanky architecture, Macau's Historic Centre, and a travel back its Mediterranean charm will.
Although a day is not nearly enough to take in all of Macau's attraction, Macau still makes a great day-trip, not to mention you can also enjoy everything in Macau for free!
